Modern Hydrogen Raises $32.8M in Series B-2 Financing

-

Modern Hydrogen (fka Modern Electron), a Bothell, WA-based clean energy company, raised $32.8M in Series B-2 funding.

The round was led by NextEra Energy, with participation from Miura and National Grid Partners, as well as existing investors Gates Frontier, IRONGREY, Starlight Ventures, Valo Ventures and Metaplanet.

The company intends to use the funds to scale-up the capacity of its hydrogen production units, accelerate decarbonization of gas networks and support distributed production of hydrogen, expand clean carbon material offerings and boost its global market presence via the partnership with Miura in Japan.

Founded in 2015, and led by CEO Tony Pan and CTO Max Mankin, Modern Hydrogen has developed technologies that produce clean energy for customers directly where they are. Partners and customers include utilities, biogas, industrial manufacturing, and C&I heating equipment companies that leverage natural gas and are looking for ways to reduce emissions quickly.
