Nomba, a Lagos, Nigeria-based payment service provider for African businesses, raised $30M in Pre-Series B funding.
The round was led by Base10 Partners, with participation from Helios Digital Ventures, Shopify, Partech and Khosla Ventures.
The company intends to use the funds to deliver more solutions for businesses in Nigeria, across Africa and in other markets.
Led by CEO Yinka Adewale, Nomba is a licensed payment service provider in Nigeria that serves more than 300,000 businesses – from solo-preneurs to large organisations – with payment solutions to help them grow and thrive including point-of-sale terminals, management and banking tools and other tools that makes it easier for businesses to accept offline and online payments and manage sales. Starting in Nigeria, the company will also deliver a range of business tools, including invoicing and order management solutions.
The company processes $1 billion in monthly transactions.
