VoxelSensors, a Brussels, Belgium-based 3D perception company, raised €5M in Seed funding.
The round was led by Capricorn Partners and Qbic, with participation from finance&invest.brussels, existing investors and the team. Marc Lambrechts from Capricorn Partners and Steven Leuridan from Qbic are appointed to VoxelSensors’ Board of Directors, effective immediately.
The company intends to use the funds to further develop its roadmap, hire key employees, and strengthen business engagements with customers in the U.S. and Asia.
Led by CEO Johannes Peeters, and CTO Ward van der Tempel, PhD, VoxelSensors is focused on 3D perception, providing sensors and solutions for seamless integration of the physical and digital worlds. Its patented Switching Pixels Active Event Sensor (SPAES) technology represents a category of 3D perception systems, delivering low latency with low power consumption by capturing a new Voxel with fewer than 10 photons. SPAES unlocks the potential of fully immersive experiences for both consumer electronics and enterprise AR/VR/MR wearables.
