Data Clean Corporation, a Des Plaines, IL-based critical environment cleaning and remediation specialists, acquired SML Enterprises, a Virginia, VA-based critical environment cleaning business serving data centers across the Mid-Atlantic region.
The amount of the deal was none disclosed.
The transaction is the first strategic acquisition by Data Clean since it was acquired by Angeles Equity Partners, LLC, a private investment firm focused on value creation through operational transformation.
The acquisition of SML has advanced Data Clean’s strategy to expand in key domestic markets, further differentiating Data Clean from its competition by way of its geographic footprint, experienced team of technicians and blue-chip customer base.
SML Enterprises has been providing critical environment contamination control services to the Mid-Atlantic region since 1984.
Led by president Richard Hill, Data Clean specifically serves critical environments such as datacom environments and computer rooms, in addition to laboratories and cleanrooms through its “Sterile Science” branded division. The company is headquartered in Des Plaines, Illinois, with offices in Virginia, and full-service branches around the world including Canada, Hong Kong, India, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, United Arab Emirates and the United States.
