Swave Photonics, a Leuven, Belgium-based company focused on holography for augmented reality, raised €3M in Seed extension.
The round, which brought the total amount to €10M, saw participation from imec.xpand, Flanders Future Techfund (FFTF), QBIC, Acequia Capital, and Luminate NY.
This seed round positions the company well to execute on its augmented reality roadmap and engage future customers, partners and investors.
Led by CEO Mike Noonen, Swave Photonics is a semiconductor company that conceives, designs, and markets holographic solutions deploying proprietary diffractive photonics and software. Its HXR technology is capable of powering holographic glasses and headsets, offering immersive spatial AR experiences with remarkable resolution, perfect depth of focus, and 180-degree to 360-degree viewing angles.
The company leverages augmented reality to enable manufacturers of mobile phones and displays, along with content creators, to improve the visualization and communication markets with immersive, ultra-high-resolution, lifelike, holographic displays.
