Solenis, a Wilmington, DE-based manufacturer of specialty chemicals used in water-intensive industries, completed the acquisition of Diversey, a Fort Mill, SC-based provider of hygiene, infection prevention and cleaning products.
The amount of the deal was $4.6 Billion.
With the acquisition, Solenis has grown to an enterprise operating in over 130 countries with 71 manufacturing facilities and more than 15,000 employees. Headquartered in Wilmington, Delaware, Solenis was acquired by Platinum Equity in 2021. Bain Capital, the majority shareholder of Diversey, will hold a minority stake in Solenis as a result of this transaction.
Diversey develops and delivers hygiene, infection prevention and cleaning products and technology serving more than 85,000 customers in over 80 countries with a network of almost 9000 employees globally.
Led by CEO John Panichella, Solenis is a producer of specialty chemicals, focused on delivering sustainable solutions for water-intensive industries, including the pulp, packaging paper and board, tissue and towel, oil and gas, petroleum refining, chemical processing, mineral processing, biorefining, power, municipal, and pool and spa markets. Its product portfolio includes a broad array of water treatment chemistries, process aids and functional additives, as well as monitoring and control systems. These technologies are used by customers to improve operational efficiencies, enhance product quality, protect plant assets, minimize environmental impact and maintain healthy water.
The company has 49 manufacturing facilities strategically located around the globe and employs a team of over 6,500 professionals in 130 countries across six continents.
