Anytype, a Berlin, Germany-based provider of a private, local-first, P2P computing platform, raised $13.4m in funding.

The round was led by Balderton Capital, with participation from Inflection, Square One, Script Capital, Protocol Labs, Connect Ventures, New Forge, and Foreword VC. Angels from the web3 world also participated in the round, including Trent McConnaghy, Jutta Steiner, Luis Cuendo, Adam Wiggins, Peter von Hardenberg, Markus Ament, and the Libermans Siblings. In conjunction with the funding, Colin Hanna from Balderton will join Anytype’s board.

The company intends to use the funds to continue to expand operations and development efforts, inviting more contributors to participate in extending the product’s capabilities, and doubling down on UX.

Anytype is an object-based note-taking productivity tool for note-taking, project management, and information organization. Built on a new architecture that protects privacy and data sovereignty, even when working across devices, it acts as a private hub for all data: docs, tasks, files, bookmarks, contacts and more. The app is available on Mac, Windows, Linux, iOS, and Android.
