Starlims, a Hollywood, FL-based provider of enterprise informatics solutions, acquired Labstep, a London, UK-based company providing an R&D Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN) platform.

The amount of the deal was not disclosed.

With the acquisition, Starlims will accelerate ideation and planning through documentation functionality, automation capabilities, and connectivity to instruments and systems. By combining STARLIMS’ comprehensive Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) technology with Labstep’s SaaS ELN platform, users can remove complexity from the lab and surface the data potential in a progressive, connected system.

Led by Jake Schofield, CEO and Founder, Labstep provides an R&D cloud platform for scientific research powering customers with real-time data. Found in 900+ universities and 65+ companies worldwide, its Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN) platform streamlines laboratory work, delivers real-time data capture and collaboration, and enhances data integrity.
