Jokr, a Brazil-based provider of online grocery delivery services in Latin America, raised $50m in Series D funding.
The round, which valued the company at $800m post-money, was led by Convivialité Ventures with participation from Lombard Odier, and existing backers G Squared, GGV, Balderton Capital,Monashees, Greycroft, and Tiger Global.
The company, which has raised $480m in total funding to date, intends to use the funds to continue to expand operations and its business reach.
Led by founder and CEO Ralf Wenzel, Jokr is a platform for instant grocery and retail delivery at a hyper-local scale. The company delivers orders including all sorts of products such as supermarket and convenience products, pharmaceuticals and exclusive local products that are not available in regular supermarkets – basically anything people use frequently and need quickly, with a focus on groceries.
Jokr currently has operations across Latin America.
The first release of the article, now updated, stated that Jokr was a Berlin based company; however, it is now a Brazil based company. The last paragraph also stated that Jokr had operations across the US and LatAm. However, they no longer have operations in the US.
