Lumber, a Saratoga, CA-based creator of a workforce management platform for construction, raised $5.5M in Seed funding.

The round was led by Carbide Ventures, with participation from Escape Velocity, 8VC, Sure Ventures, Converge VC, and Firsthand Alliance, as well as individual investors.

The company intends to use the funds to expand operations and its business reach.

Led by Founder and CEO Shreesha Ramdas, Lumber provides an integrated, end-to-end SaaS workforce management platform for SMB construction contractors, empowered by a purpose-built LLM. It unifies Payroll, Time Tracking, Compliance, Accounts Payable, and Onboarding Workflows providing productivity solutions to ensure compliance, manage labor costs, streamline the payroll process and make informed financial decisions. 

The platform is now available to general contractors, subcontractors, and specialty contractors who want to leverage its integrated time tracking and payroll application.
