Bonsai Robotics Raises $13.5M in Seed Funding

-

Bonsai Robotics, a San Jose, CA-based company providing computer vision-based automation solutions for harsh, off-road environments, raised $13.5M in Seed funding.

The round was led by Acre Venture Partners with participation from E14, Congruent, Serra Ventures, Fall Line Capital, SNR Ventures, Andros, and angels including Travis Deyle (founder of Cobalt Robotics), Lee Redden (founder of Blue River Tech), and Matt Barnard.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate its product roadmap and invest in both hiring and sales & marketing.

Led by CEO Tyler Niday, Bonsai Robotics provides computer vision-based robotic automation solutions for harsh, off-road environments such as agriculture, which are integrated with OEM equipment to make it autonomous, and can operate without GPS in adverse conditions including dust, debris and vibration.

The company is already working with OEMs including OMC and Flory Industries, and by Calif. growers who report significant gains in efficiency even during a severe labor shortage.
