Quext, a Lubbock, TX-based technology company for the multifamily industry, acquired Homebase, a Kansas City, MO-based provider of a smart building technology platform.

The amount of the deal was not disclosed.

With the acquisition, Quext brings a comprehensive suite of features and solutions in what will soon become a unified user experience to operators. Homebase’s CEO Blake Miller will become Quext’s new Chief Product Officer.

Led by CEO Blake Miller, Homebase is a smart building technology platform that drives connectivity and communication for multi-tenant communities. By connecting smart home devices – access control, lighting, lock hardware and software, thermostats – as well as automated building systems through a building-wide WiFi and Bluetooth Mesh network, the company helps property managers give residents a modern living experience they desire while making management simple and seamless.

Founded by Madera Residential, an industry leader in multifamily housing investment and property management, Quext is a smart technology and services company that leverage apartment technology and products that work together to provide a cloud-based apartment community hub. Core platform innovations include internet of things, digital human customer support, broadband internet, and fintech solutions.
