Lassie, a Stockholm, Sweden-based provider of a pet health insurance and a mobile app, raised €23m in Series B funding.
The round was led by Balderton Capital with participation from Felix Capital, Inventure, Passion Capital and Philian.
The company, which has now raised a total of €36.5m, intends to use the funds to expand operations, its development efforts, and its business reach internationally.
Co-founded by Hedda Båverud Olsson, Sophie Wilkinson and Johan Jönsson, Lassie is an insurtech company dedicated to offering preventive pet policies valid in Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark, as well as for temporary visits of less than one year to countries in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom.
The company also provides an app developed in close collaboration with veterinarians and animal care experts to give users access to exclusive courses and information to stay up to date on the latest in animal care. In the app, they also regularly receive tips that are suitable for their particular animal and find all information about the insurance.
