Myrias Optics, an Amherst, MA-based developer of all-inorganic printed meta-optics, raised $3M in Seed funding.
The round was led by Asia Optical with participation from UMass Amherst, Tenon Ventures and HOSS Investment.
The company intends to use the funds to expand operations and its business reach.
Founded in 2021 by Professor James Watkins and led by CEO Patrick Tan, Myrias Optics leverages research developed by the Watkins Group at the University of Massachusetts Amherst to advance all-inorganic printed meta-optics for augmented reality/virtual reality, consumer electronics, machine vision, advanced robotics, automotive light detection and ranging, defense and aerospace.
The company has secured exclusive worldwide license to six foundational patents using nano-particle formulations.
