Woola, a Tallin, Esonia-based packaging company, raised €2.5M in funding.
The round was led by Metaplanet and followed by Future Ventures and Lemonade Stand along with new angel investors.
The company intends to use the funds to grow its sales and marketing team.
Led by Anna-Liisa Palatu, CEO, Woola is creating protective wool packaging to replace plastic. Since 2020, the company’s focus has been on replacing bubble wrap in ecommerce. Now, Woola is expanding its offering to the luxury goods market.
Commenting on the news, Palatu said: “We founded Woola to help stop the use of fossil fuels. We are replacing protective plastic packaging with sustainable alternatives made of wool that work just as well, but look much better“
Earlier this year, the company won the LVMH Innovation Award in the “Sustainability and Greentech” category and joined the Group’s business accelerator La Maison des Startups.
