Figure, a Sunnyvale, CA-based AI robotics company developing general purpose humanoid robots, raised $675M in Series B funding, at $2.6 Billion valuation.
The round saw participation from Microsoft, OpenAI Startup Fund, NVIDIA, Jeff Bezos (through Bezos Expeditions), Parkway Venture Capital, Intel Capital, Align Ventures, and ARK Invest.
The company intends to use the funds to accelerate its timeline for humanoid commercial deployment.
Led by Brett Adcock, Founder and CEO, Figure is an AI Robotics company developing autonomous general purpose humanoid robots. Its Humanoid is designed for initial deployment into the workforce to address labor shortages, jobs that are undesirable or unsafe, and to support supply chain on a global scale.
The company, which has a team of 80 employees, is partnering OpenAI to collaborate to develop next generation AI models for humanoid robots. Figure will leverage Microsoft Azure for AI infrastructure, training, and storage.
