Francisco Partners, a San Francisco, CA-, London, UK- and NYC-based investment firm that specializes in partnering with technology and technology-enabled businesses, acquired Jama Software, a Portland, OR-based requirements management and traceability solution provider, from shareholders including Insight Partners and Madrona Ventures.
The deal – subject to customary closing conditions – amounted to $1.2 Billion.
Led by CEO Marc Osofsky, who will personally reinvest and continue to lead the company, Jama Software provides requirements management software to minimize the risk of defects, rework, cost overruns, and recalls for engineering organizations in fields such as fuel cells, electrification, space, software-defined vehicles, surgical robotics, and more. Using Jama Connect®, engineering organizations can intelligently manage the development process by leveraging Live Traceability™ across tools to measurably improve outcomes. Its customer base spans the automotive, medical device, life sciences, semiconductor, aerospace and defense, industrial manufacturing, consumer electronics, financial services, and insurance industries.
