Vawlt, a Lisbon, Portugal-based long-term data storage startup, closed a €2.15m funding round.
Backers included Lince Capital, Basinghall Partners, and Beta Capital and existing investors Armilar Venture Partners and Shilling VC, alongside Carlos Brazão and Alain Fiocco.
The company intends to use the funds to expand the team and accelerate product innovation and intensify support for its global Channel Partner Network.
Founded in 2018 and led by Ricardo Mendes, CEO, Vawlt accelerates and secures the transition to the cloud world facilitating solid, long-term data storage strategies.
At the core of the solution is the Supercloud concept. By distributing data across multiple clouds or on-premises nodes simultaneously, the company creates a resilient, secure, and efficient storage environment. The technology ensures data availability even in the event of cloud outages or security threats, such as ransomware attacks.
