Tonic App, a Porto, Portugal-based digital health startup, raised €10.85m in Series A funding.
The round was co-led by BlueCrow Capital and Iberis Capital with participation from Vesalius Biocapital III, Armilar Venture Partners, Portugal Ventures, Shilling VC, and FSNB Health & Care.
The company intends to use the funds to expand operations and its business reach in Europe.
Led by Daniela Seixas, CEO, Tonic App provides doctors with a mobile platform and AI-powered virtual assistant that aggregates all the resources they need to diagnose and treat patients. More than 140,000 medical doctors are already using the app. In the second quarter of 2024, the company will launch Tonic Scribe, a Generative AI system that allows automated transcription and summarisation of clinical notes.
The company, which currently operates in Portugal, Spain, Italy, and France, plans to expand into the UK and Germany over the next 24 months.
