Medi2data, a Cardiff, Wales, UK-based provider of clinical operating systems, raised £2.1M in funding.
The round was led by Wealth Club and existing investors, under the Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS).
The company intends to use the funds to build out the team and infrastructure so it can continue to convert and service their multi-million-pound pipeline in the UK, as well as to support its international footprint, as with the establishment in Cape Town, South Africa.
Founded by Richard Freeman, Medi2Data has developed products and services to simplify the transaction of consented patient medical data from different data sources within the NHS to client entities requiring access to the data for risk assessment purposes. Its platform is built on the same clinical coding structure used by government healthcare platforms in the UK and other prime markets such as the US, Australia, South Africa and much of Europe. This means it can produce targeted, and accurate medical reporting.
Medi2data’s technology and services are already used by thousands of GP surgeries across the UK.
The Medi2Data team comprises of 53 FTE’s and operates its locations in London and Cardiff and a recently established office in Cape Town, South Africa, where a technical engineering team operates.
