atmio Raises €5.1M in Seed Funding

atmio, a Hamburg, Germany-based provider of an operating system for finding, fixing, and reporting methane emissions, raised €5.1M in Seed funding.

The round was led by Notion Capital, with participation from SquareOne. Other investors included HCVC and Robin Capital, as well as angel investment from Bernhard Mohr, former VP Gas Detection at Dräger, and David Rowan’s VOYAGERS Climate-Tech Fund.

The company intends to use the funds to go to market, develop its product, hire new engineers, and build out a new marketing and customer success team. 

Led by CEO Matthias Schmittmann and COO Marius Krüger, atmio is building the operating system for the oil and gas sector to find, fix, and report methane emissions. With its combination of hardware and software, the company aims to tackle climate change and become a provider to measure and manage greenhouse gas emissions.

Customers include gas storage operators; Crystal, EWE and Distribution System Operator, Westnetz.
