Freyja Healthcare Raises $8M in Funding

Freyja Healthcare, a Boston, MA-based early-stage medical device company specializing in women’s health, raised $8M in funding.

Backers were not disclosed.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate the development of its innovative product line, propel the commercialization of VereSee™ and drive further advancements in the expanding women’s health market.

Led by Jón Ívar Einarsson and Gaby Moawad, Freyja Healthcare aims to raise the standard of women’s health in both surgical and in-office procedures, enabling physicians to deliver safe and effective care. The centerpiece of their portfolio is the VereSee™ device, a 2mm safe abdominal access video entry device designed for laparoscopic surgery. Freyja will soon begin initial commercialization of the VereSee device, with broad availability expected in the second half of 2024.

The company now has four products in advanced stages of development, 17 granted patents and 21 pending patents.

With this latest funding round, the company has now raised over $17m.
