Shift4 (NYSE: FOUR), a Center Valley, PA-based company which specializes in integrated payments and commerce technology, acquired a majority stake in Vectron Systems AG, a Münster, Germany-based supplier of point-of-sale (POS) systems to the restaurant and hospitality verticals.

Shift4 has also completed its previously announced acquisition of Revel Systems, an Atlanta, GA-based provider of a cloud order management platform.

The acquisitions will provide Shift4 with an expansive customer footprint across Europe as well as a distribution network of ~300 POS resellers. The company also will be able to add its integrated payment services to current Vectron customers and products.

Revel Systems is an open cloud order management platform for restaurant and retail brands. Through flexible architecture and open API, Revel enables brands to design a full tech stack that meets their needs, enabling them to provide a customer experience, diversify revenue streams, and scale with ease.

The company has over 18,000 merchant locations across the United States and internationally which Shift4 estimates represents a $17B+ payment opportunity.

Led by CEO Jared Isaacman, Shift4 empowers commerce by simplifying complex payments ecosystems across the world. As a player in commerce-enabling technology, it improve billions of transactions annually for hundreds of thousands of businesses in virtually every industry.

Shift4 is expected to acquire additional ownership of Vectron through a public tender offer that is expected to conclude within the next month, with a de-listing and formal integration process to occur shortly thereafter.
