GovWell, a New York-based provider of a govtech software platform, raised $4.5m in seed funding.
The round was led by Work-Bench, with participation from Bienville Capital.
The company intends to use the funds to expand operations across engineering, customer success, and sales teams, and its business reach.
Co-founded by Troy LeCaire, CEO, and Ben Cohen, GovWell provides a SaaS platform that helps local authorities streamline tasks such as renew licenses, issue permits, conduct inspections, and other municipal processes. Since founding in April 2023, the company has launched its first product to automate core workflows for municipalities and counties, such as permitting and licensing. They currently serve more than a dozen government agencies in 7 states representing 200,000+ citizens.
