Sunswap, a London, UK-based clean-tech startup decarbonising cold chain logistics, raised £17.3M in funding.

The round was led by BGF, with participation from Shell Ventures, Dutch venture capital fund, Move Energy, and existing backers Barclays and Clean Growth Fund.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate the further development and production of its zero-emission transport refrigeration units (TRUs).

Led by CEO Michael Lowe, Sunswap is a cleantech company providing zero-emission transport refrigeration. Founded in 2020, it aims to decarbonise the global cold chain with its purpose-built electric transport refrigeration unit, Endurance. With no need for diesel, Endurance is empowered by battery technology and solar panels installed on the roof of the trailer.
