Appfire Acquires JXL

-

Appfire, a Burlington, MA-based provider of enterprise collaboration solutions built for teams, and the business ecosystem, acquired JXL, a Jira issue editor and organizer and one of the fastest-growing apps on the Atlassian Marketplace.

The amount of the deal was not disclosed.

Developed in 2020 by Atlassian alumni Daniel Franz and Hannes Obweger, JXL combines Jira cababilities with spreadsheets. It enables users to inline-edit issues in highly customizable table views, copy and paste fields individually and in bulk, and group and structure issues in customized hierarchies (including for Jira Standard edition subscribers). Users can sum up field values across levels (e.g. epic sum-ups), apply conditional formatting rules, use smart columns, issue history data columns (e.g. time in status measurements), plus so much more. JXL is applicable to every Jira user persona, team size, industry, and use case.

JXL customers can expect the same level of app support with Appfire. There will be no changes to the license renewal process at this time. Customers can trial, purchase, and renew with their Atlassian reseller or directly on the Atlassian Marketplace. The main features of JXL will stay the same, and with the support of Appfire’s infrastructure, customers can look forward to continued investment in the product roadmap with new features, regular updates, and improvements.

Led by Co-Founder and CEO Randall Ward, Appfire is a global provider of software that enhances, extends, and connects the world’s leading platforms to make work flow any way teams want to work, from planning to product ideation, product development, project delivery, and beyond.
