Battolyser Systems, a Rotterdam, the Netherlands-based electrolyser producer, raised €30M in Series a funding.
Backers included Global Cleantech Capital, Innovation Industries, and Invest-NL.
The company intends to use the funds to scale its operations and bring to market its next-generation electrolyser in 2025.
Led by CEO Mattijs Slee, Battolyser Systems develops and manufactures an integrated battery and electrolyser called ‘Battolyser’ that can store electricity and produce hydrogen from renewable power to balance societal demand. The Battolyser® technology can switch on and off following intermittent renewable energy. With its flexibility, it unlocks new business models, reducing the cost of green hydrogen and alleviating grid congestion. The Battolyser is offered as a 2.5MW plug-and-play skid and 5MW modules that are integrated with a Balance of Plant on site.
The Series A funding complements the €40m financing agreement signed with the European Investment Bank (EIB) in October 2023.
