Irubis, a Munich, Germany-based startup developing real-time bioprocess monitoring solution, raised an undisclosed amount in Pre-Seed funding.

The round was led by BioProcess360 Partners, with participation from previous investors such as High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF), Verve Ventures, Ventura BioMed Investors, RoBet KG as well as new and existing business angels from the industry such as Dr. Matthias Arnold and Dr. Christoph Bremus.

The company intends to use the funds to further enhance its solution, Monipa, used to empower bioprocesses with increased efficiency and precision.

Founded by Lorenz Sykora-Mirle, Alexander Geißler, and Anja Müller, Irubis is a startup company that specializes in mid-infrared (MIR) spectroscopy for bioprocessing. It develops Monipa, specifically for bioprocess monitoring and control and based on MIR spectroscopy, making it possible to monitor multiple bioprocesses realtime and continuously. Its instrument’s applications are foreseen in both upstream and downstream bioprocessing. These include multiple nutrient and metabolite monitoring and control in upstream processing and monitoring and controlling product concentrations and other process parameter/quality attributes in downstream processing.
