Supermaven Raises $12M in Series A Funding

-

Supermaven, a NYC-based AI-powered code completion tool provider, raised $12M in Series A funding.

The round was led by Bessemer Venture Partners with participation from angel investors including OpenAI co-founder John Schulman, Perplexity co-founder Denis Yarats, Intercom founder Eoghan McCabe, and Mike Volpi, co-founder of Index Ventures San Francisco.

Led by Jacob Jackson, CEO, Supermaven provides a copilot for code completion.

The company intends to use the funds to develop a new product: a text editor which will be designed together with models to accelerate day-to-day tasks and help experienced developers navigate and edit large codebases. Editor extensions for VS Code, JetBrains IDEs, Neovim, and Zed are used by over 40,000 developers today.
