Wispr

Wispr, a San Francisco, CA-based company building a natural way to interact with technology, raised $12M in funding.

The round, which brought the total amount to $26M, was led by Matt Kraning, CTO, Cortex at Palo Alto Networks with participation from existing investors NEA and 8VC, along with Tim Junio (CEO, Expanse), and Alumni Ventures.

The company intends to use the funds to launch Wispr Flow, a voice-first productivity tool, across additional platforms.

Wispr Flow was recently selected to participate in the 2024 AWS Generative AI accelerator.

Its key features include:

  • Blazing Fast Dictation: Speak naturally and see words appear instantly in preferred style, across every application, empowered by Flow’s fast inference engine.
  • Auto-edits: “Hey let’s meet at 5pm, actually let’s do 6pm” automatically becomes, “Hey, lets meet at 6pm”.
  • Smart Formatting: Automatically structure a text for clarity and readability.
  • Command Mode for selected text: Say commands like “Flow, make this crisper and more assertive” without copy-pasting into other tools.
  • Native integrations: Select text anywhere and just say: “Ask perplexity, what does this mean?”
  • Whispering mode: Use Flow around others by quietly whispering to computers.
  • Multi-Language Support: Communicate effectively in over 100 languages.

The product was created by CEO Tanay Kothari and Sahaj Garg.
