Wombo, a Toronto, Canada-based company which specializes in consumer AI applications, raised $9M in funding.
The round was led by Round13 Digital Asset Fund, with participation from NVIDIA, CoreWeave, SBI, Web3.com, and others.
The company intends to use the funds to expand its team, accelerate product development, and explore new frontiers in AI-powered content creation.
Led by CEO Ben-Zion Benkhin, Wombo specializes in the consumer AI space, boasting over 200 million downloads across its suite of applications.
The company also plans to use the funding to assist in the R&D and creation of w.ai, a project that aims to create a large AI supercomputer that transform idle devices like MacBooks, smartphones, or PlayStation devices into AI workers, allowing users to contribute computing power and earn rewards.
