Alpha Design AI, a Santa Barbara, CA-based developer of ChipAgents, AI agents for chip design and verification workflows, raised $3.09m in Pre-Seed funding.

The round was led by ScOp Venture Capital, with participation from Impact Assets, Amino Capital, semiconductor executives, and angel investors.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate the development and deployment of its agentic AI tools.

Led by William Wang, Founder and CEO, and Prof. John Bowers, Founding Advisor, ChipAgents is advancing an AI agent for hardware engineers and semiconductor companies to manage chip design and verification workflows. Building on generative AI, ChipAgents empowers chip designers with an assistant that accelerates RTL code verification, debugging, and design optimization. With its integration into existing workflows, ChipAgents aims to enable design teams to improve productivity and reduce design verification cycles.

ChipAgents analyzes and generates RTL design specs and code, auto-completes Verilog, and automates the creation of testbenches, eliminating the need for tedious manual coding. Through real-time learning from simulations, it autonomously verifies and debugs design code, ensuring comprehensive testing and top-tier quality. By reducing design and verification cycles, ChipAgents accelerates time-to-market and slashes development costs.
