Permanent Agriculture Raises $3.7M Seed Funding

Permanent Agriculture, a Washington, DC-based wholesale food marketplace and distributor, raised $3.7M in Seed funding.

The round was led by Better Tomorrow Ventures and participation from Atman Capital, Autopilot, Gaingels, Progression, Sugar Mountain, and other investors.

The company intends to use the funds to hire team members across sales, supply, and technology and expand its product and services into new regions.

Founded in 2023 by Wiley Webb, a former Design Lead for a fintech company and farmer, Permanent Agriculture is a public benefit company providing a wholesale food marketplace whose just-in-time model cuts distribution costs and enables local and national supply optimized for each customer. By leveraging AI to support communication, pricing, and logistics, customers can access a growing catalog of foods in the US, with 200+ items available for daily distribution in Northern California and 50+ items for large-volume contracts.

Launched in June 2023, to date, The marketplace has created millions of dollars in new sales for more than 60 California farms. The company has 20 enterprise customers, from universities and restaurant chains to consumer packaged goods (CPGs).
