Voovo, a Budapest, Hungary-based provider of an AI-powered flashcard app designed to make learning more efficient and engaging, raised $500k in a pre-seed funding round.
Backers included Techstars, STRT Ventures, Peter Csillag, and Óbuda University’s Venture Capital Fund.
The company intends to use the funds to expand its partnerships with educational institutions, grow its user base, and further validate its model in real-world settings.
Led by CEO Benedek Herman, Voovo aims to bring microlearning into everyday education and empower students and educators around the world. Using microlearning principles, Voovo breaks down complex topics into digestible chunks and reinforces them through a combination of spaced repetition and active recall—ensuring that knowledge is revisited and retained over time.
The platform’s AI algorithms personalize study sessions based on individual performance.
For educators, Voovo offers a way to engage students through custom flashcards, quizzes, and interactive content that can be shared seamlessly within a classroom environment. By integrating with school curriculums, the app provides teachers with insights into student progress, helping them adapt their teaching strategies based on real-time data.
