$125M raised to build AI Native Software Development

Tessl, a London, UK-based AI Native software development company, raised $125M in funding.

The round was led by Index Ventures with participation from Accel, and GV.

The company intends to use the funds to build out the platform and accelerate hiring in AI research, engineering, product, design, and developer relations.

Led by CEO and Founder Guy Podjarny, who previously founded and built Snyk into a multi-billion dollar security leader, Tessl is a provider of an open software development platform that reimagines how software is created in the AI era. While most AI coding tools focus on automating parts of existing workflows, the company is moving from a ‘code-centric’ to a ‘spec-centric’ model that will make development more accessible, productive, maintainable and secure. At its core, Tessl is building a system of record for the AI native development era – an open platform that enables and accelerates the work of AI-native developers. Developers can come together to define and build software based on specs, in close collaboration with both AI and other developers.

The company has opened its waitlist to developers and will launch in early 2025.
