Carbogenics, an Edinburgh, Scotland, UK-based company which specializes in sustainable biochar technology, raised nearly GBP500K in funding.
Backers included Green Angel Ventures, and Kaplak Ventures.
The company intends to use the funds to accelerate the uptake of its CreChar® product, whilst progressing the commercialisation of new products to market such as FilaChar® designed for the waste-water industry.
A University of Edinburgh spinout, Carbogenics transforms hard-to-recycle secondary-biomass into CreChar®, a carbon-rich material that enhances biogas yield, improves soil health, and locks carbon away for centuries.
While these funds will accelerate key growth initiatives, such as new product development, expanding sales traction and operations into Europe and North America, Carbogenics remains committed to its UK operations having opened its first post-processing facility in Glenrothes Scotland earlier in 2024.
The company is led by CEO Ed Craig.
