miDiagnostics Raises €30M in Series D Funding

miDiagnostics, a Leuven, Belgium-based qPCR technology company developing tests directly to patients and clinicians, raised €30M in Series D funding.

The round was led by Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. (NYSE: TMO) with participation from Alychlo, VMF Invest and Pamica.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate the development of a sterility test for batch release and related quality control tests for the BioPharma Industry, utilizing its proprietary qPCR technology. 

Led by CEO Katleen Verleysen, miDiagnostics is advancing healthcare through silicon chip technology, delivering miniaturized and rapid, lab-quality tests directly to patients and clinicians. By integrating a nanofluidic processor on a chip with a compact reader, it is capable of measuring a wide array of biomarkers from minimally invasive samples. 

Founded in 2015, miDiagnostics emerged from R&D and innovation hub in nanoelectronics and digital technologies, imec, in collaboration with Johns Hopkins University, a premier research and medical center in the United States.
