Ossio, a Woburn, MA-based medical device company, raised $27.6M in equity funding.

The round was led by Questa Capital, with participation from existing investors MVM Partners, OCV, Ortho-Vision and Courage Capital.

The company intends to use the funds to increase patient access to metal-free OSSIOfiber® surgical implants.

Led by CEO Brian Verrier, Ossio is an orthopedic fixation company committed to transforming the surgical experience for patients, physicians, providers, and payors. Founded in 2014, its vision is to provide a credible replacement for metal implants in the multibillion-dollar global orthopedic fixation market with OSSIOfiber Intelligent Bone Regeneration Technology.

Based on Intelligent Bone Regeneration Technology, OSSIOfiber implants combine mechanical strength and natural healing in a bio-integrative design. Their proprietary polymeric mineral fiber matrix propels rapid bone in-growth, regeneration and replacement a new way for orthopedic surgeons to restore stability and mobility for their patients’ fractures while leaving nothing permanent behind.

Since the company’s first product launch in 2019, upwards of 50,000 OSSIOfiber implants have been used across a broad spectrum of orthopedic procedures.
