Suprema, a Rome, Italy-based company which specializes in the production of superconductive tapes, raised €900K from Tech4Planet.
The company intends to use the funds to expand operations and its development efforts.
Founded by Andrea Augieri, Fabio Fabbri, Francesco Rizzo e Giuseppe Celentano, Suprema provides HTS superconducting tapes for multiple applications, starting from the energy sector. The tapes enable the creation of magnetic fields needed to confine and stabilize the plasma at very high temperatures. The technology represents a solution for the future of Magnetic Fusion for the production of clean, safe and sustainable electric energy.
In addition to Magnetic Fusion applications, HTS tapes find application in other strategic sectors such as electrical distribution and transmission, particularly within data centers, where energy efficiency is crucial to reduce consumption and improve the sustainability of digital infrastructures.
