Bioptimus, a Paris, France-based AI foundation model biology company, raised $41M in funding.
The round, which brought the total amount to $76M, was led by Cathay Innovation with participation from investors, including Sofinnova Partners, Bpifrance through its Large Venture Fund, Andera Partners, Hitachi Ventures, Boom Capital Ventures, Pomifer Capital, Sunrise, and angel entrepreneurs Emmanuel Cassimatis and Thomas Wolf.
The company intends to use the funds to enhance its multi-modal AI platform, integrating even more diverse data sources and therapeutic areas, forge strategic partnerships with pharmaceutical and biotech companies and expand critical datasets to further refine and validate its models.
Led by CEO Jean-Philippe Vert, Bioptimus is building an AI foundation model that connects biology at its different scales, from molecules to cells, tissues, and whole organisms.
The company’s mission is to enable the simulation of biology and innovation for medical, biotech, cosmetic industries, and beyond.
