Fermata

Fermata, a Tel Aviv, Israel-based data science company specializing in computer vision agriculture solutions, raised $10M in Series A funding.

The round was led by Raw Ventures.

The company intends to use the funds to support its strategic vision of developing a centralized digital brain for the horticulture industry, allowing autonomous management of crops through data analysis.

Led by CEO and Founder Valeria Kogan, Fermata is focused on the application of data science and computer vision solutions to challenges faced by commercial agriculture. It has now developed an adaptive computer vision platform designed to automatically detect pests and diseases at their earliest stages. This early-detection platform, known as Croptimus™, enables growers to reliably mitigate these issues in advance of the point crop loss becomes inevitable and further reduces the amount of time and money spent on traditional scouting.

The company has already forged strategic collaborations with Microsoft, NVIDIA, Wageningen University, Bayer Crop Sciences, yieldsApp, and agRE.tech, and plans to continue partnering with industry leaders to expand its impact throughout the agritech sector.
