Inari Agriculture, a Cambridge, MA-based seed design company, raised $144M in funding.
Backers included Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), and a large financial investor collaborating on forthcoming agriculture projects. Existing investors including Hanwha Impact, NGS Super, the State of Michigan Retirement System and company founder Flagship Pioneering also contributed.
The company intends to use the funds to expand operations and its development efforts.
Led by CEO Ponsi Trivisvavet, Inari develops seeds for a nature-positive food system. Through a combination of AI-powered predictive design and a pioneered multiplex gene editing toolbox, it empowers the seed to bring soybean, corn and wheat products to market.
Founded in 2016, Inari has additional sites inĀ West Lafayette, Ind., and Ghent,Ā Belgium, and a team of more than 300 employees.
