Wire, a Berlin, Germany-based messaging and video conferencing company, acquired Pydio, a Paris, France-based document sharing company.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
The acquisition will combine Wire’s end-to-end encrypted communications platform and Pydio’s Cells enterprise document management, sharing and collaboration solution to provide organizations with a single environment for all their communication and collaboration needs.
Led by Founder and CEO Charles du Jeu, Pydio is a provider of self-hosted enterprise document management, sharing and collaboration solutions. Its Cells platform offers an alternative to SaaS-based productivity solutions and open-source groupware and is designed for organisations that need complete control of their documents.
Led by Benjamin Schilz, CEO, Wire provides a workspace platform, delivering a suite of messaging, audio, video, and file sharing capabilities for use at scale by teams while staying protected by the end-to-end encryption based on the MLS standard that is invisible to users and always on. It is used by security-sensitive government and defense agencies, global enterprises, and users around the world.
