Kynda, a Jelmstorf, Germany-based food tech startup, raised €3M in Seed funding.

The round, which brought the total amount to €5.8M, was led by Enjoy Ventures through its Invest-Impuls Scale fund, with additional participation from Swiss Clima Now and PHW Group.

The company intends to use the funds to expand operations and its development efforts.

Founded in 2019 by COO Franziskus Schnabel and CEO Daniel MacGowan, Kynda has developed an innovative fermentation process, which leverages mycelium, the intricate root structure of fungi, to yield a mycoprotein rich in fibre and protein.

The company is now involved in extending its production at a new factory in Jelmstorf, which is planned to open in Q2 2025.
