Terra CO2, a Golden, CO-based low-carbon building materials company, raised US$82M in Series B Funding.
The round was led by Just Climate, Eagle Materials (NYSE: EXP), and GenZero. Seed and Series A lead investor Breakthrough Energy Ventures (BEV) also participated.
The company intends to use the funds to accelerate its commercial deployment of its OPUS technology, with multiple full-scale production facilities planned across North America and initial development beginning in Europe.
Led by CEO Bill Yearsley, Terra enables their partners to generate low-carbon cement from source to deployment. Its first product, OPUS SCM™ (Supplementary Cementitious Material), is ready for commercial deployment, capable of replacing up to 50% OPC (Original Portland Cement) and addressing the industry’s carbon emissions and dwindling feedstock challenges. Its OPUS ZERO™, a potential 100% replacement of OPC, is in full concrete trials. Both leverage Terra’s “drop-in” reactor solution, which integrates with existing infrastructure.
