AMBOSS, a Berlin, Germany-based company focused on medical education and clinical decision-making in Germany and the US, raised €240M in funding.
Backers were KIRKBI, M&G Investments and Lightrock, as well as existing shareholders.
The company intends to use the funds to expand operations and its development efforts.
Co-founded in 2012 by co-CEOs Dr. Madjid Salimi and Benedikt Hochkirchen, Amboss provides a global medical knowledge platform improving the acquisition and the use of the medical know-how at the point of care. Providing actionable recommendations on diagnostics and treatments, it acts as a digital co-pilot for the clinical practice.
The company has grown its international team to over 500 employees from more than 50 countries, including scientists, software engineers, and 150+ physicians. It has more than 1 million professional users across 180 countries.
Doctors worldwide use it to continuously combine the medical contents with technology.
The company has also an office in NYC.
