Lucky Energy, an Austin, TX-based energy drink company, raised $14.2M in Series A1 funding.

The round, which brought total funding to over $40m, was led by Maveron, with participation from DMG Ventures, Second Sight Ventures, and existing investors Imaginary Ventures, Brand Foundry Ventures, Sapphire Ventures, and Sugar Capital.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate distribution, introduce new products, support strategic partnerships, and recruit in key business areas.

Led by CEO and Founder Richard Laver, Lucky Energy offers a product line featuring six flavors (Son of a Peach, Orange Drizzle, Red Ryder Punch, OG Luck, Tropical Thrill, and Bodacious Berry), with a blend of five ingredients, including maca and beta-alanine, and has 0 sugar and 0 calories. Products are available on luckybevco.com, Amazon, and over 10,000 locations nationwide.

Additionally, the company added Dan Ginsberg, former CEO of Red Bull NA and CEO of Dermalogica®, to its Board of Directors.
