Madison Scientific, a Chicago, IL-based private medical device company, raised $7M in Seed funding.

The round was led by WARF Ventures, the Isthmus Project, and others with participation from family offices and angel investors.

The company intends to use the funds to grow its team, expand preclinical testing, and advance prototype development of its SmartShunt Hydrocephalus Management System.

Led by Tyler Wanke, MD, MBA, MEM/MSDI, and CEO, Madison Scientific (MadSci) is an early-stage medical device company providing smart electro-mechanical devices to improve treatment and long-term care for patients with hydrocephalus and other neurologic conditions. Hydrocephalus is a potentially fatal condition that affects over one million children and adults in the U.S. and current treatment options are plagued by high failure rates and diagnostic uncertainty. Its SmartShunt System is designed with state-of-the-art technology and advanced algorithms to reduce shunt failure and increase diagnostic capabilities.
