Viam, a NYC-based engineering platform for data, AI and automation, raised $30M in Series C funding.

The round, which brought total amount raised to $117M, was led by existing investor Union Square Ventures, with participation from Battery Ventures and Italian investment group Neurone.

The company intends to use the funds to continue scaling its operations and business reach.

Led by MongoDB Founder Eliot Horowitz, Viam helps companies use AI, data and automation in the physical world. They provide a single platform for engineers of all disciplines to solve problems together and build solutions that are fast and future-proof. Viam powers solutions across robotics, food and beverage, climate tech, marine, industrial manufacturing, and more.

The addition of Neurone as an investor reflects Viam’s expansion into Italy’s industrial sector. Neurone brings several industrial powerhouses to the round, including the Ferrari family.

In 2024, Viam expanded its customer base across industries such as robotics, quick-service restaurants, climate tech, marine, and industrial manufacturing. This past October, the company announced a partnership with the New York Islanders and UBS Arena. In the marine space, Viam has partnered with leading manufacturers like Viking Yachts and has launched a pilot program with global technology provider Kongsberg Discovery, part of KONGSBERG Group, pioneering the use of AI for sonars in fishing. Other customers include Sbarro, Swiss nuclear engineering company Transmutex, autonomous robotic kitchen company Appetronix, and intelligent workplace safety platform CompScience.
