Cellid, a Tokyo, Japan-based developer of AR display technology and spatial recognition engines, raised over $7.5M in Series C extension funding.
Backers included SBI Investment Co. Ltd., IMM Investment Japan K.K., and IMM Investment, Corp.
The company intends to use the funds to acquire new talent both in Japan and internationally to improve the development of key AR glass components, such as micro projectors and waveguides.
Led by CEO Satoshi Shiraga, Cellid specializes in the development of AR glass display modules, focusing on waveguides and spatial recognition engines for new devices. Leveraging optical simulation and proprietary production technologies, it has developed display modules as thin and lightweight as standard eyeglass lenses, delivering clear images. Additionally, the company offers solutions empowered by spatial recognition technologies such as Cellid SLAM.
With the latest investment, Cellid raised over $15M.
